Dr. Julian Kunnie’s latest book, The Cost of Globalization: Dangers to the Earth and Its People, examines the pitfalls of globalization outside the mainstream, corporate narrative which asserts that globalization represents positive economic growth for everyone on the planet. He provides an analysis which identifies the advent of European colonialism as the impetus of globalization which has contributed to climate change and global warming.
In part one of this three part-series, Julian introduces the overall premise of his book whereby he explains why globalization is colonialism and how it currently functions through neo-colonial arrangements. We elucidate the concept of mentacide on the population which he notes is the primary means by which corporate entities and public officials are able to carry out policies which are only concerned with profit. We identify and expound upon cultural commodification, middle-class indifference to fundamental issues, and the criminal behavior of high-ranking politicians.
